Our Story

Westie Rescue Network, Inc. is a Colorado based 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer organization established in 1990, We have rescued and saved the lives of over 1,000 West Highland White Terriers.  We provide comprehensive care to Westies in need, striving to match them with loving families and offering the medical attention, food, shelter, and love they require. Our goal is to create heartwarming connections that last a lifetime.

Remarkable Journeys . . . 
one rescue at a time

A rescued West Highland White Terrier embarks on a journey with hope and transformation. Initially, they may face challenges, having come from difficult backgrounds, but with love and care, they begin to heal and thrive. Our volunteers work hard to foster and care for our Westies until they are ready to be rehomed to a new family. 

 

Westies are known for their friendly demeanor, intelligence, and playful spirit, making delightful companions. They do present challenges if not provided the proper environment, training, patience, and socialization.  The experience of adopting a rescued Westie is incredibly rewarding, as you not only gain a loyal friend, but also the joy of giving a deserving dog a second chance at a loving home.  To Learn more about the breed and the Westies we rescue,
